Parents recognize the importance of a dynamic, faith-based education to prepare children for personal achievement and success. Nonetheless, there is no question that the cost of Catholic education is a sacrifice for many families. Catholic schools are self-supported and not recipients of the tax dollars or federal funding that public schools receive. Seelos Academy charges tuition to cover a majority of the operating expenses of the school. The remaining expenses are covered through parish subsidy, fundraising, and donations.
We strive to see that no student is denied the opportunities afforded by a Catholic education simply because the cost of that education may be a challenge for the student’s family. Financial aid decisions are handled by the diocese, so please contact the Department for Catholic Schools at 412-456-3108 or email budplan@diopitt.org first for questions regarding tuition assistance. All requests are completely confidential.
