Susan Grice is passionate about teaching and has found her calling as a math, science, and religion teacher at Seelos Academy. Mrs. Grice creates a classroom environment centered around honesty, compassion, and kindness so that children feel safe and secure in order to truly learn. Combining her love for gardening with teaching, she created a vegetable garden in the school courtyard where she incorporates hands-on learning into her science and ecosystem lessons with the students. Mrs. Grice earned her BA in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

The German Catholic influence of her hometown of St. Mary’s, PA is a charming part of Mrs. Grice’s history. In high school she was crowned Bavarian Queen of the town’s Bavarian Festival and her family owns and operates Straub Brewery, the third smallest brewery in the nation. Now queen of her and her husband’s castle of three adult children and two Boston Terriers, she enjoys hiking and almost anything outside as long as it isn't too cold.
