Mallory Gurney, a 2021 Golden Apple Award winner, possesses the heart of a teacher. She is enthusiastic and adapts her lessons to meet the needs all of her students. Mrs. Gurney's classroom has a comfortable atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Her students see a smiling, enthusiastic teacher who uses humor and is excited to share her knowledge in a way they can relate to.

A dancer since the age of three, Mrs. Gurney continued to dance through high school as part of the dance and drill teams. Today, she loves spending time with her husband and their two children, especially at the beach. She also enjoys watching football and walking. Mrs. Gurney has an undergraduate degree from Thiel College in Elementary Education K-6 and a master’s degree from Duquesne University in Reading Language Arts Grades K-12.
